Water Service Interruption in Six Block Area

Tuesday, August 18
Midnight – 4 am
Emergency # (415) 550-4956

SFPUC water operations will be connecting the new water main to our distribution system between midnight – am Tuesday morning. This will require interruption of your water service temporarily during the hours listed above. Construction noise can be expected for residents live near Noe and 19th street. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience. Other blocks that will be affected:

• 18th street from Noe to Castro
• Hartford from 19th to 18th
• 19th street from Noe to Castro
• Noe from 19th to Ford

This activity is being conducted overnight to minimize disruption. Following the shut-down, we recommend you run cold water for a few minutes as sometimes the water appears cloudy or discolored due to air bubbles in your water. You may use this water for your plants or gardens.

Contractor is consolidating materials and equipment at all locations to maximize neighborhood parking.

The courtesy parking at Everett School ends 11:00 pm today, 8/14. We have removed the trailer from the staging area adjacent to the school to accommodate more parking.

Follow-up from Duboce Triangle Meeting

Thanks again for providing some time to discuss the water system improvement project in your neighborhood at last night's meeting. A couple of updates: We are installing both 8" and 24" distribution lines through to Duboce, but not across the street to Steiner.

The crew has reached 14th Street with installation of both lines. The contractor intends to complete the installation through to Duboce by Friday.
8/17-21 Install water service lateral lines between Henry and Duboce.
8/24-8/28 Water Dept. will make connections to 8" line and disinfect.
8/31-9/18 Water Dept. will change over the service to the new line.
The contractor will begin digging under Duboce the week of 8/24.

Let us know if you have suggestions or if issues arise. Let us take care of them before they become a real problem. Thank you. Maureen and Jim

Noise and Clean-up on Sanchez

We are attempting to work with the other construction project on Sanchez, 300 block, to do better clean up in the evenings. The school is preparing to paint and there are cyclone fencing and other materials along the street. Our inspector is aware that we have complaints about early morning starts and is trying to remedy the situation. We have informed the contractor that mobilizing for work...is still noisy and should be limited to work hours.

The crews will continue working on water pipelines installation between Market and Duboce next week. They have been instructed to make every effort to minimize noise and disruption.

Latest Construction Update--South of Market

I hope we didn't confuse anyone regarding the Cafe check-in last evening. We were at Duboce Cafe and will be back at H Cafe next week. However, I did chat with a couple of neighbors last evening and this morning. You should receive a mailer tomorrow or Monday. Look for handouts in plastic sleeves around the neighborhood this weekend.

The contractor is targeting September 25 to complete the final paving. If you are travelling up on Noe to 2oth and along 19th between Noe and Sanchez, use caution as we will need to detour traffic at a couple of locations to keep the work going and give neighbors access to their streets.

Water Service Interruptions:

Residents at 19th & Sanchez has been notified that water service will be interrupted during the day on Monday, Aug 10.
Noe & Cumberland will be notified on Monday, Aug 10 for a shutdown on Tuesday morning.
Addresses at 20th & Noe will be notified next week, after the connection at Cumberland is complete, about a day time water interruption later that week or the following.
At 19th & Noe, a night time shut down is still scheduled for Monday August 17 to accommodate the many businesses we will affect on Castro. There will be noise accompanying this work.
Call us with any special needs: 415-554-3297 or 415-350-4929.

We'll also be at the Duboce Triangle meeting this Monday. If there are other gatherings, please keep us in mind. We'll see you at H Cafe between 5:30 and 6:30 pm next Thursday. Yes, we moved up the time to accommodate the cafe staff.
