Construction Update # 9

Excavation at the intersection of Sanchez and 17th streets postponed
Due to utility issue, crew will postpone excavation work at the intersection of Sanchez and 17th streets to late June. This work involves digging of large pits on both sides of the intersection and then pushing pipe through the pits. Duration: 8 weeks

The project team is making every effort to limit the “no parking” restrictions and monitoring the signs posted by the contractor closely. DPT has 72-hour advance posting requirement, so you may see “no parking signs” at blocks where no construction activity occurs. You are allowed to park prior to the start of construction or if no work has commenced by noon. In addition, the project team is looking for a staging area to store pipe and construction equipment to reduce the loss of parking spaces in these narrow corridors.

Our water operations crews are doubling their efforts to finish water pressure testing and make service connections to homes and businesses. They may even complete this work ahead of schedule.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we work to improve your drinking water delivery system. Please look for the June/July project update in the mail. For updates and comments please visit our blog: sfwater.org/district8.
