Why the Contractor needs NO PARKING signs

Restricted “no parking” signs located at 19th near Sanchez and on the side streets are for upcoming work to install the branch lines that will supply water to homes and businesses. While there is currently no activity, DPT requires that these signs be posted three days in advance. Today, the contractor took up some new “no parking” spaces as they have discovered a leak in the newly installed 8” pipeline and need to make the repairs.

To all concerned: Every effort is being made to limit the “no parking” restrictions as much as possible. If a staging area could be secured nearby for pipe and equipment, we certainly would do that.--Resident Engineer.
